About

The Climate Majority Project is based on a simple premise: most people are concerned about climate change and want to see more action. They just don't know what to do about it and feel there isn’t an effort large enough to be worth joining.

Mission: Accelerate effective, coordinated climate action by a broad-based coalition of citizens; from grassroots initiatives to high-level policy.

Vision: Catalyse a mindset shift towards climate responsibility at all levels of society, that limits ecological harm, embraces adaptation and protects our planet for future generations.

Through grassroots and policy level organising with communities, schools and businesses, we are working to turn that silent majority into a self-aware one — one that is able to slow climate breakdown and prepare for the impacts that are already underway.

Our theory of change:

The IV dimensions of mobilisation

What makes people act — and what holds them back? A simple framework, grounded in psychological research and common sense, helps us understand what people need to move from concern to action.

Truth/knowledge: We have a clear, honest understanding of what's happening and why it matters.

Action: We have concrete, doable ways of playing our part — steps that feel meaningful rather than futile.

Collective efficacy: We can see that our actions are part of something large enough to make a real difference.

Emotional stability: We have the support we need to sit with a difficult reality and still show up for it.
